"SAM is NOT about GUNS!" NOTE Regarding OPEN CARRY: Don't get SAM confused with other marches, the S.A.M March on April 19th in WA D.C. do *NOT* open carry or concealed, do not take guns, bullets or even empty shells to this march or you could end up in the pokey! Lot's of exciting things going on with SAM, many great speakers and a big thanks to "Mancow" Muller! Even people from other countries are coming here and why? Because it's about freedom. His perspective as a Marine on war and politics. From organizing the march he has been all over the USA and he finds people are no longer blindly trusting government and officials. He grew up in a family of democrats, then became a republican, and now is independent, a patriot, "SAM is non-partisan. I think people are tired of hearing politicians." He is very hopeful about this November, that it will be a "house cleaning" when the people vote this time. "We need people in WA D.C that don't want to be there, just good people." (A great example is George Washington.) "People want less government involved in their lives. What would your great grandmother say about America today?" And raising kids in this country, his leaning curve in the 'lost art' of parenting. His family is very proud of what he is doing, beautiful support from his son. "It's important to take the kids to events, we have stopped teaching our kids, and if you don't do it somebody else will." The bow of the wave is growing, and what concerns him is the few way out fringe elements at the extreme of either right or left that could trigger all sorts of problems between now and November. If something violent happens people equate the second amendment with guns "and it's not about the guns at all, it's about MLK and Rosa Parks, people doing the right thing, and look at what they did for our country. I want to stay in that vein, that moral high ground... We still have the ballot box and if we elect the wrong people it's our own fault, in November we have a chance to get it right." |

"This Is Our Event!" Skip is so busy we found him on the road, he found a good reception spot to pull over! Lots of interviews and publicity thanks to GOA. We turn your attention to SAM store, there you will find, among other great things, Front Sight Firearms Training who have donated many vouchers for their excellent courses. When you buy one through SAM you support it while paying a fraction of the price, funds to cover the march are still needed. Look for your State March to see if you have a coordinator, WA State still needs one, any volunteers? ( ) Skip describes the interesting differences between the states that he has observed "we all have to stick together and realize we are not alone, the media makes it look like most Americans want to ban guns and that is not true. The 2nd amendment is like the teeth in the Bill of Rights and Tea Parties have awakened people to the power of government, terrible when it is turned against the people. We discuss the interesting gun ban attempt case in Seattle and a Supreme Court case also in progress. Chicago needs the right to bear arms, 100s are dying; and there are over 20,000 gun laws now; and what home invasion felons say most worries them, what it takes to march on D.C. it's not for the light hearted! A little known fact about 501C non-profit organizations, and lots more in this hour. |

"Teaching and Emboldening Women" "Stalking Natalie," his 7th book, is different from his previous as it is more of a psychological thriller and the protagonist is a woman. He wondered if he understood enough to get inside the mind of a woman - we think he did very well! "Natalie" is 'sensing' things... the tingle of fear and the feeling of being watched. She tries to ignore it thinking herself paranoid. Unfortunately what most women do, however she does enroll in a course... good for her! Because she is being stalked. The story quickly begins with the instructor teaching her along with the reader, how to approach the use a gun and the mindset of survival. Women face a host of threats and they mostly have to take care of themselves. The intent of this book is emboldening women. Skip talks about the stigma of guns and children, how and when he teaches his kids, "when a child is raised with firearms it's not a big deal to them, they simply learn and acquire right attitudes and discipline." and "if I can get a woman on the range they love it! And they are more accurate than men." He explains why women are the future of the Second Amendment, most on the Board are women and many who volunteer do not have guns. do not even like them, yet they understand why the 2nd Amendment is so important, it stands between us and tyranny. He then shares some of the things he teaches about guns, choosing and using guns, practicing tips, muscle memory, accuracy and when to use the sights, why the right holster can keep you alive, developing a carry system, and how to select the best choice of gun for you. |

"If Not Now, When?" Skip really wasn't interested in political activism, that is until he had his first child. Most good people don't like it because politics is so dirty, then parental responsibility kicked in and the big life questions began... "why are we here, what's the world going to look like if you don't get involved?" Now he is very active in several groups. As a NRA instructor he loves teaching how to defend your families and says it's time for good people everywhere to speak up! "Political correctness is probably one of the most dangerous things that has happened to our country" he explains why. His idea for a march on D.C. in 2010 had an amazing response since its inception in January and it's momentum is growing; its culmination will be on April 19th 2010, the 235th anniversary of Lexington Concord, with celebrities and prominent 2nd amendment activists including Oathkeepers and Sheriff Richard Mack speaking. "Politicians need to know there is a line they can't cross." As a Marine he knows it's much easier to defend a hill then to loose that hill and have to take it back. If we speak up and keep our freedom then we save our kids from a shooting war (shouting now is a lot better than shooting later isn't it?) So if not now, when? And an issue that should outrage every American, our soldiers are being disarmed, left defenseless and being killed here at home! (Example: Ft. Hood Texas). Skip informs us that this has been the case since the Clinton administration, one of the President's first acts upon taking office was to disarm U.S. soldiers on military bases, an order that was never corrected. [see Washinton Times Article here] So our troops, trained to fight and protect Americans, are disarmed once they are on American soil! Why? These are the people we want to be armed! Civilians and the military have a symbiotic relationship, unarmed, soldiers cannot protect themselves or us from domestic threats. So it is our turn to protect them with civilian support to make D.C. give back their guns, "people need to raise holy hell about this one! [Especially coupled with something like the Oathkeepers movement] [...] I can see why those at the very top do not want American soldiers armed here in the United States, it's because they are a threat to them." This hour will inspire you to decide if you want to be sheep or a sheepdog! |
