~~~ Pam Paizs ~~~
Pam has published her first book! See it below
and hear about it on her March 10, 2011 program!
Pam Paizs the owner of Happy Hovel Storable Foods in Yelm WA and a student at Ramtha's School of Enlightenment for 15 years.
Once the CEO of Australia's then largest Food Corporation, her background in food stems from setting up the research and development for "shelf stable" foods for the consumer market.
Pam has decided to share her knowledge of storing foods safely and to take the mystery out of purchasing and keeping foods for short and long-term purposes.   Find out how you can begin your food storage in an easy and manageable fashion plus how you can easily preserve your own home grown produce and meats ...even if you do not have a garden or much space, you can grow yummy food. And think about it, no matter what might come about, an earthquake, a sun flare that causes a wide spread power outage... you will be alright and well prepared to take care of your and your family's needs.
Important thoughts, questions, and suggestions:
Why should we store foods?   How long does stored food last?   Salt, sugar, and honey, why are they important?   Why should we store wheat?   How much food should we store?   Learn how to store water properly.   Where and how to store your foods.   Storing foods for very young children.   Organic or not organic.
Pam is happy to answer your questions on these and other important subjects, e-mail link is on her website:   www.happyhovelfoods.com   The first program:   Pat, Diane, & Pam Friends, their stories and why they came to RSE.
"Jack & Mops' Magical Adventures, Particles and Widgets"
Our BTO guest Pam Paizs, famous for her preparedness programs and Happy Hovel Storable Foods is now a new author! This is a wonderful fairy tale for all ages, a great story on how you can create anything. It has a writing style with a rhythm that will take you away into elsewhere. The book actually began in 2004 and its inspiration came from Ramtha saying that "Cinderella" is one of the holiest books of all, (an excerpt of its meaning is in the book). After that, Pam spent much time studying quantum physics, she wanted to understand how these tiny particles work and from her studies she became a new person. Now she knows "everyone can make magic." Children are magical because they have no doubt. Pam's book ("Jack & Mops' Magical Adventures - Pumpkins and Particle Widgets") is a story to open the mind and it smoothly combines Fairy Tale magic with quantum physics. There are Ramtha quotes in the book and it is also lightly adorned with beautiful illustrations. "Particles will become whatever we want" and a 10 year old who heard the first chapters read to her class and now, years later at age 16 gives her review. The exciting things is, there are more adventures to come from "Jack & Mops"!
"Garden, Greenhouse, and Seed Kits!"
Happy Hovel spent months to ensure that they put together just the right combinations of unique seed kits and make them available for all of us! They made sure the seeds are non-hybrid, and Pam explains what that means. Also very important was to include the best "how to" book matching each particular kit so we know what to do! Each kit has seeds in a food grade bucket for long term storage and comes with a beautifully illustrated book, eg., the 'Seeds of the Future' comes with a step by step book on sowing, harvesting, drying and storing seeds, "it's so simple any of us can do it." They also have herbal/medicinal kits especially for women, children, and general family; seeds for 'Canning, Root Cellar, and Salad'. Growing your own is a great way to avoid irradiated foods, nasty fertilizers, and genetically modified seeds from packers. "We just lost another hunk of ice the size of Long Island the other day, these are things that drive weather patterns." And speaking of weather and cold climates Pam tells us what we can be planting now, yes in September! She gives detailed instructions on how to make your own greenhouse really cheap, and creating that greenhouse effect in small areas such as window seats, balconies, plus a hot house on a pot. "Even if you don't want to do this now, get all the pieces and store them for when you will be wanting them later."
"About Your Pets and Other Things"
Listeners' questions about her Costco (or similar market) list, you can find it on happyhovelfoods.com main page, click and print. And the very popular DVD with two amazing Mormon ladies who show what to do with wheat, like make meat? And cheese from powdered milk... it's fabulous! (Send an email to Pam about the DVD). Pam also has food grade buckets available and oxygen absorbers to keep things in stasis. Can you put processed flour in these buckets? Farms are being affected globally by weather, etc.. Storing whole wheat is also for future planting stock, and clues to how you can make bread yourself, plus online videos free to watch. And what about your cats and dogs? "Most safety is common sense." How rancidity happens and using 55 gal plastic barrels to store dry pet food, and tips about canned pet food. The "Doomsday Vault" in Norway, a seed storage bank filled with pure seeds not genetically modified, hedging a bet against whatever happens. Pam has several seed kits designed for different things including root cellar salad, medicinal herbs for adults and children, and every kit comes with a book. Next time we'll learn about balcony gardens, how to make an inexpensive greenhouse, and how to use it!
"It's Fun to Discover!"
Pam the great motivator is here! This hour is based on what if you were just starting today. And we make it fun! Supermarkets, specialty stores, online shopping, and you lucky people who have Trader Joe's... each month you will get your shopping list here. It really is true things in jars and cans all last longer than the 'use by' date. Simplicity is the key, you can even eat right from a can, cold. "This is an interesting time we are in and that's why we are talking about it." So here comes your list, and keeping things dry with rice, waterproof matches, tips on oil, how long honey lasts and its surprising uses. The jar and the can philosophy, "there are so many things out there you never knew about or looked at, it's fun to discover!" If you find something that's really cool let us know about it! From twinkies to toostsie rolls to canned meat and wild salmon, get your pen ready, this hour is packed with things you can store. It's getting a little scary as some foods are disappearing and Pam wants everyone to have a good start!
"Here's Where to Start"
Pam has kindly agreed to add her over 20 years of experience (read her bio) to our monthly 'Preparedness Series' starting with how the average person can begin with many products available in supermarkets & farmer's markets, and avoid ending up waiting in long store lines for some small thing. Global warming will increasingly affect the food supply. For short & long term storage, Happy Hovel Storable Foods can find what you need. Interested in trying your hand at canning? They have a link to free "How to" videos that show you where to start. Also see updates on world food supplies and other important news such as shortages and high demand items. They also do a lot of consultations [ Contact Pam Here! ] Pam is a great resource towards peace of mind, she knows what she is talking about! "What I do is help people survive, my gift to you is to tell you how to store and save your food, we want you to be safe, that's what this is all about. This is done with a great amount of love to help everybody." Get out a pen and paper now as Pam tells how long frozen foods last, the best canner, where to find the best vegetables, when you can use a steamer cooker (much easier than canning) how to be careful buying wheat, oxygen absorbers, and much more!
"Creating a Preservable Future"
Don't make your storage boring, make it interesting! Reminiscing Elena's first canning lesson --Beef Bourguignon, mmmmmmm... be creative and make sure you include comfort foods. Having fun taking care of yourself ...and keeping it to yourself; the bees disappearing & what Ramtha said; forget global warming, grow your own food to protect yourself from the FDA! Fun stuff to add to your stash, the things we miss the most; chickens, eggs, but no rooster? "city girls' ignorance"! The most dangerous thing to can, and it's not tomatoes. And an important tip for Europeans.
"One Day this may Save You"
Pam's question five years ago "Do you Calif girls even know what wheat looks like in its natural form?"  She got us, then our question --what the heck do we do with it like that?  But seriously, why not store food?   Pam's simple hints for the average person who may not store much, make your list as you listen.   Plus what is dangerous and what not to do.  Did you know the supermarket nearest you can only hold 3 days of food, and their warehouse may be on the other side of a downed bridge, so imagine there is no food, no gas, no power, what do you need?   You can grow your own vegetables even in limited space, and the two things that everybody has an attitude about, everybody!
"Surviving a Global Crisis"
Pam is highly recommended by your BTO hosts, her passion is giving you information that is in your best interest, and can not be stressed enough.   Globally we are in crisis, and it's not going to go away.  Water is in a dark situation as it is without corporations now endeavoring to control all water rights including private wells, this is a problem for everyone.  Why water will become more valuable than gold and likely be what the next war will be about.  Learn how to store water safely for up to 5 years and what *not* to do.  And where have the bees gone...  have you noticed?
Recommended resources by Pam:
